Classes Offered

Teen Outreach Program (TOP)

TOP promotes the positive development of adolescents through a unique combination of engaging curriculum and Community Service Learning. Specific learning topics include: emotion management, problem-solving, decision-making, goal-setting, health and wellness (including sexual health education) self-understanding, social identity, empathy, communication, relationships, and community. TOP aims to prevent teen pregnancy by building protective factors against teen risk taking, and reducing factors the least to risk taking. TOP is designed to work with adolescents ages 12-18.

Families Talking Together (FTT)

Families Talking Together is a parent-based program to prevent and/or reduce sexual risk behavior amount adolescents. The main components of the program are parent discussions with a facilitator and a family workbook designed to teach parents effective communication skills, build parent-adolescent relationships, help parents develop successful monitoring strategies, and teach adolescents assertiveness and refusal skills. FTT is designed to support parents with youth of all ages.

Making Proud Choices (MPC)

Making Proud Choices is a safer-sex approach to teen pregnancy and HIV/STI prevention. This curriculum provides adolescents with the knowledge, confidence, and skills necessary to reduce their risk of sexually transmitted infections, HIV, and pregnancy by abstaining from sex or using condoms if they choose to have sex. This program is intended for teens aged 15-19 and is not taught in schools.
